Wash and soak the dal for atleast 4 hrs.
Drain the water and wash the dal again and starin the water completely.
Add the soaked dal, ginger, green chillies to a grinder . Grind half of the batter to a smooth paste and half to a coarse paste. Do not add water.
Add salt, jeera, coriander powder, garam masala, hing and mix well.
Take an appe pan. Grease it with oil and pour a spoonful of batter and cook on medium flame. Once cooked flip and cook from other side too till nice golden in colour.
Serve hot with chutney of ur choice or tomato ketchup.
